Romance

One of my classmates suggested the music "Romance" at the appearance of a character dancing beautifully, so I want to know what "Romance" is.

"Romance" or "Love Romance" is a traditional Spanish song for guitar. It became famous when Narciso Yepes arranged this song and used in the French film "Forbidden Games" (Jeux interdits) by René Clément in 1952. It also pushed the career of Narciso Yepes to the international level.

They spent too much money on filming to employ an orchestra for its music. So Narcio Yepes played guitar only throuhout the movie. That was the reason why Romance was used in the film. And that made this film so beautiful. An interesting episode!

Usually, romance means love affair, but "Romance" means Romance languages. Romance languages, such as French, Italian and Spanish, are languages that developped from Latin.
I want to study Romance languages again sometime!
